PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND:
Tom Percy obtained his law degree from the University of Manitoba in 2001. That same year, he represented the U of M at the 8th Annual Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Vienna, Austria.
Tom completed his articles and began his practice with one of Winnipeg’s oldest and most respected firms before heading west and joining Scott Venturo LLP in 2006. Subsequently, he spent a couple of years at the Alberta Securities Commission providing advice on various policies and regulations, as well as prosecuting contraventions of the Albert securities laws.
Tom brings significant experience in several areas of law, with a primary focus on insurance, securities, employment and commercial litigation. He has appeared before all levels of the Manitoba and Alberta Courts, conducting numerous Provincial Court trials, and assisting with trials and appeals at the Court of Queen's Bench and Court of Appeal. Tom also has extensive experience with a variety of forms of alternate dispute resolution, including arbitration, mediation and judicial dispute resolution.
