PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND:
Katrina Edgerton-McGhan received her Bachelor of Arts in Human and Social Development from the University of Victoria in 2005 and her Bachelor of Laws from the University of Victoria in 2008. Katrina summered, articled, and practiced as an associate at a civil litigation boutique firm. She joined Scott Venturo LLP in 2010 as a litigation associate.
Katrina’s practice has consisted of general litigation in various areas in all levels of courts in Alberta and has appeared in front of the Alberta Securities Commission. She has experience in oil and gas, commercial, professional negligence, insurance defence, sports, and intellectual property litigation. She advises clients respecting board disputes, has appeared in this respect at all levels of court, in administrative proceedings, and as a monitor in this respect. She maintains a practice advising and defending individuals and corporations in the area of Occupational Health and Safety.
Katrina is on the Board of Directors of the Cochrane and Area Humane Society, where she chairs the Risk Management Committee. She is also on the Board of the Association of Women Lawyers, and is a volunteer lawyer with Student Legal Assistance.
