Chelsea received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Victoria in 2000 and her Bachelor of Laws from the University of Victoria in 2003. Upon graduation, Chelsea articled with Scott Venturo LLP and practiced thereafter with the firm as an associate. Chelsea became a partner in 2011.
Chelsea practices in the areas of family law and insurance defence.
In family law matters, Chelsea strives to meet the individual needs of clients and their families by combining a sound legal knowledge with a variety of resolution strategies. Chelsea has experience with disputes regarding parenting, support and property division as well as preparation of pre-nuptial or cohabitation contracts. Chelsea tries to achieve resolution of her clients’ disputes in a way that minimizes conflict between the parties. However, where litigation is the more appropriate option, Chelsea has the experience necessary to effectively advocate on behalf of her clients. She has appeared on matters before the Provincial Court of Alberta and the Court of Queen’s Bench.
In her insurance defence practice, Chelsea has experience handling bodily injury claims, construction losses, defamation claims as well as providing advice on coverage issues. Chelsea understands the need to apply both a solid legal knowledge along with practical advice to achieve an effective resolution of claims for her clients.
