Scott Venturo LLP offers a unique articling
experience, giving our articling students exposure
to all areas of the legal practice, while working in
a small-firm atmosphere.
Students will gain experience in a number of critical
areas including general litigation, both civil and
commercial. Scott Venturo LLP has an emphasis on insurance
defence work which includes personal injury, property
loss, professional liability, coverage issues, and
all other areas of insurance practice. We are also
able to offer a student experience in family law, real
estate, wills and estates, criminal law and general
corporate/commercial work.
The following is a list of frequently asked questions on the articling program:

One student per year.
- What is the firm's hire-back ratio?
We regularly hire our students as associates.
- What salary and benefits is Scott Venturo LLP able to offer?
Scott Venturo LLP offers compensation commensurate with other firms our size. We offer full benefits to our articling students, including medical and dental, life and disability insurance and full payment of Bar Admission Course and Law Society fees. We also pay the student's full salary while attending the Bar Admission Course.
We also offer a subsidized fitness membership in the Eau Claire YMCA and parking.

Yes
- What is the start date for an articling position?
We are flexible and will accommodate the student's needs.
- What do we look for in an articling student?
We look for students with strong academic background, and solid law school marks. We also look for students with life experience. We believe it is an asset to have work experience in other areas before starting law school. We require superior interpersonal skills and a strong work ethic. At the same time, we look for students with interests outside of the law such as sports, politics and volunteer and community service.
- Do you hire summer students?
Yes. Our summer student program is designed to feed into our articling program. Our goal is to allow students the opportunity to have exposure to the articling experience at Scott Venturo LLP while at the same time giving the firm the opportunity to assess the student's academic and work abilities as well as their overall "fit" within the firm. Our goal is to be able to offer our summer students an articling position. As a result, we have an express preference for first-year law students.
- Where should I send my resume?
All resumes should be sent to the Scott Venturo LLP office to the attention of Terry Braun or by e-mail at t.braun@scottventuro.com.
